His Through It All

By Laura Ferguson

There is a truth about this life-with-Jesus that just baffles me. I talk about it often because it is a question I won’t get explained to me until I see Him face to face. While the Creator longs for all to be saved, because of sin, the reality is that that won’t happen. And the even bigger miracle, to me, is that He decided that I be called His.

“In the whole land,” declares the Lord, “two-thirds will be struck down and perish; yet one-third will be left in it. This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my Name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are my people’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”- Zechariah 13:8-9 (NIV-emphasis mine)

There’s no room to ponder or fear refinement for us who are chosen. It’s happening. He ensures it. But two things are incredible here: He will answer when we call and He will call us “Mine”. Today, I invite you to simply make this passage yours. Look at the refinement you are currently facing today, and make this proclamation boldly and with abandon.

She will call on my Name, and I will answer her. I will say, “She is My daughter”, and she will say, “The Lord is my God!

He will call on my Name, and I will answer him. I will say, “He is My son”, and he will say, “The Lord is my God!

In it all and through every circumstance, we are His and He is ours.
